is your diet back to normal. can you eat greasy and high fat/cholesterol foods

I’m on a low fat diet for liiiiiife. Also with alcohol and caffeine intolerance!

silly lady, this isn't myspace, this is a bathtub

peepee poopoo

@S3C then miss kiwi must be a toater. Cuz I wanna take a bath with her.

@PumpkinHeaDude

Toater.

Thank you for listening to my ted talk.

Alcohol and caffeine intolerance whaaaat?! Alcohol seems avoidable but the caffeine noo not the caffeine... been using that as a pain killer too lately. The right cup of coffee seems to cure most tension headaches. And paradoxically possible create more if you don't then maintain dosage...

How you doin' right now though?

Unfortunately soda causes inflammation and hurts my body :( I have started cutting back! I’m not a coffee drinker, so don’t have to worry about that, but I love a nice Coca Cola :( more water for me now! I haven’t had the right flank pain or threw up the way I was before having my gallbladder removed. However, I’m still introducing some foods back into my diet and learning what upsets my tummy now.

Ahh, yeah, though that's mostly the sugar no? As far as I know sugar's the main cause of pretty much all inflammation in the body. Carbohydrates that break down to sugar entirely too - same with alcohol. Could maybe combat that with more fiber, possibly but more costly probiotics/prebiotics/extra enzymes? Fermented stuff's great too.

Oh damn gallblader removal! I was just on a lecture on leaky gut actually. Learned that bile salts protect against unwanted microbes too, apart from breaking down fat. The gallbladder doesn't actually stop production of bile but it does regulate the flow of it, and increases the output when necessary, if you didn't know all this already, they say it's non-essential but it does assist... hope that works out alright for you.

Believe it’s the refined sugar, the dyes, and the high fructose corn syrup. I’ll just combat it with drinking less soda lol, there’s really no need for soda. Yep. It helps breakdown fat/bile, which is the reason for the low-fat diet. I don’t really mind. Can still have my pasta, love grilled chicken and have even grown into a turkey kinda girl. Plus I’ve always loved my fruits and veggies. Just learning more about what causes that inflammation in my body now (soda and dairy being the main culprits I’ve noticed).

Mmm lotta fructose in the US I hear! And azo dyes can't be good. Low-fat huh, were you on that even before the gallbladder removal? Is it a temporary thing now or forever if bile production's down...?

Aye that doesn't sound so bad after all then. :) Forgot about milk and gluten in regard to inflammation. Latter one definitely caused the most trouble for me, so much better since I stopped eating wheat.

yep! Lots of corn in everything in America too. High fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, etc etc. I wasn’t before! It was recommended for after surgery, and as I re-introduce foods back into my body, I learn what makes my tummy and side hurt. French fries are a big no, anything deep fried is a no, and I’ve found that things that cause inflammation also cause me pain (caffeine, alcohol). Ive never had issues with gluten that i know of! Dairy hurts but I’ve found a lot of alternatives to that one over the years :) definitely a learning process taking notes of how each food makes me feel after I eat!

Ohh nooo not French fries too. XD Not that I eat fast food often but that and caffeine. How can you live without 'em. Ah well... sounds like you're on a healthy path at least. I think food preferences overall really are a habitual thing more than anything. If you don't eat sweet things for a while you lose the craving. Foods that make you feel better eventually taste better, as you relate the health-related benefits to the consumption thereof... is my theory.

Been drinking a lot of oat milk here too. :) You do get used to the taste pretty quick. I prefer it over the real thing now. Though not as filling as real cream.

I like being filled by real cream

@Cyberdevil as far as 'milk' goes...

cashew > almond > oat > soy >>>>> mammalian

@Cyberdevil and I have a coworker who was able to eat gluten again after his gallbladder removal...

@S3C I still do like cow milk too actually, doesn't seem like the like fades even when I don't drink it often, but oat's the standard these days... fun fact though: different cow types milk tastes different. Mountain cows for example. Up North the dairy producers mainly have those, and you can clearly taste the difference.

As for the coworker thing holy shit man maybe I ought get rid of my gallbladder too...

sure is quiet around these parts...

sorry man, life has me
